Senior Scientist, Protein – Early Research

The best candidate will be responsible for developing new assays and testing activities relating to selection of gene therapy candidates from AAV vectors in vitro. In this role the individual will develop cell-based assays and methods for quantifying the expression and function of candidate viral vectors and their expression products. Additional assay development may include characterization of protein binding using SPR or BLI, cell imaging, and flow cytometry. This candidate will also be expected to provide direction and supervision to associate scientist in alignment of project and corporate goals.

• Conduct in vitro evaluation of AAV vectors to enable the selection of vectors for in vivo testing
• Develop functional assays for expressed using appropriate in vitro models
• Collaborate with other scientists to identify areas of improvement
• Evaluate new assay technologies and innovate novel assay/methodologies strategies
• Keep good lab notebook and experiment records; Authoring and review of SOPs
• Collaborate with other scientists and routinely present data
• Perform other duties as necessary
